Debut Judging Appointment

I was recently under took my first official Judging appointment, at the South of England Show ground in Ardingly West Sussex. The invitation was to judge the pedigree classes. It was a pleasure to meet a wonderful selection of dogs and their handlers at this prestigious event. The weather was kind to us, which was great. The first two classes were for young dogs and bitches aged 6 months to 18 months. The middle two Classes were for adult dogs and bitches. The Championship class at the end of the afternoon involved previous class winners being judged. The quality of the dogs made it difficult to choose 1^st and 2^nd place. In the end I awarded 1^st place to the Italian Greyhound and his owner/handler. It is great to be involved in the showing side as it allows me to appreciate the hard effort others invest in their dogs.
